Job Title: Baby Room Leader

Job Type: 7am -6pm or 7:30am – 6:30pm, ASAP Start

Location: Richmond Upon Thames

Salary:  £18 - £27 Per Hour

The Role: Baby Room Leader – Richmond Upon Thames  

As Baby Room Leader, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the baby room. You'll lead by example in providing high-quality care, plan age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS, and support a team of practitioners to ensure every baby receives individual attention and responsive caregiving. You’ll play a key role in helping babies settle into nursery life, supporting their emotional development and creating strong attachment relationships. This is a hands-on role where your compassion, creativity, and attention to detail will help shape the earliest experiences of every child in your care.

You will be working in a nursery who fosters a supportive workplace culture where staff are valued, heard, and encouraged to grow. With regular training opportunities, clear progression pathways, and a strong focus on staff wellbeing.

As a Baby Room Leader, you will be expected to:

• Lead and support a team of baby room practitioners to deliver outstanding care
• Create a warm, secure, and stimulating environment for babies to thrive
• Develop strong bonds with babies and build trusting relationships with families
• Plan and implement rich learning experiences based on individual needs
• Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and health & safety
• Monitor development and maintain accurate observations and records

Qualifications and requirements – Baby Room Leader – Richmond Upon Thames

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above)
• Experience working with babies in a nursery or early years setting
• A genuine passion for supporting babies’ development and wellbeing
• Leadership experience or readiness to step into a team-leading role
• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamworking skills
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
