The Role: Science Teacher –Islington

As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, accessible, and inspiring science lessons that ignite curiosity and foster a love of learning in all students. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the science curriculum, adapted to meet the diverse needs of pupils. Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the science department, you will ensure every learner is supported academically. Creativity, adaptability, and a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices will be essential as you help students explore the world around them through hands-on investigations, experiments, and inquiry-based learning—building their scientific understanding.

A Science Teacher will be expected to:

• Develop and deliver engaging science lessons based on curriculum standards.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
• Integrate experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment.
• Establish rules and expectations for student behaviour in both classroom and experiment settings.
• Work with colleagues to coordinate curriculum across grade levels or subjects.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

• Relevant Science Degree
• QTS
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong ICT knowledge
• Enhanced DBS
