The Role: Maths Teacher – Merton  

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping students’ mathematical understanding and helping them develop essential skills that will support their academic progress and future careers. Your main responsibility will be to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of learners across a range of abilities and ages.

You will work closely with students to build their confidence in numeracy, problem-solving, and logical reasoning, ensuring they grasp key concepts and can apply them effectively. The role involves continuous assessment and feedback to track progress and identify areas where students need additional support or challenge.

As a Maths Teacher will be expected to:

• Deliver clear, well-structured lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Plan and adapt schemes of work and resources in line with curriculum requirements.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing timely feedback and support.
• Encourage a growth mindset and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, clubs, and trips.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress

• Ability to work to deadlines
• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong ICT knowledge
