Educate Staffing is proud to be working in close partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in St Albans, Hertfordshire, to recruit a passionate Year 5 Class Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position starting September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher or a confident early-career teacher (ECT) ready to make a difference in a supportive, well-resourced environment.

The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners. This role will involve:

• Planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that engages and challenges pupils.

• Creating a nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.

• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, and tailoring learning accordingly.

• Working closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to share best practices and maintain high standards.

• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and the wider school community.

This is a full-time maternity cover role for the entire academic year, with the potential to be considered for longer-term opportunities within the school or trust.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

• Proven experience in primary education, ideally within Key Stage 2

• A creative and inspiring teaching style that promotes a love of learning

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• A collaborative, flexible approach and a genuine passion for education

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and parents

• A good sense of humour and a positive, proactive attitude!
