Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full time - 8:30am - 4pm

Location: Camden

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School who fosters a supportive work environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and a passion for providing support to students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist the teacher in implementing personalized learning plans for students with SEN
  • Support students with their educational, personal, and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Help to manage and maintain learning resources for students with SEN
  • Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or related field (desirable but not essential)

Day-to-Day

  • Engage in one-on-one or small group support sessions with students
  • Assist with classroom activities and monitoring student progress
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding student progress and needs
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to SEN support
