Job Title: Humanities Teacher
Job Type: Full time, April Start
Location: Merton
Salary: £160-£200 a Day* Based on Experience
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Humanities Teacher to join a collaborative school in Merton. The school is a SEN school with a focus on supporting students with Autism and will suit a humanities Teacher who is confident working with SEN needs in a small class of 6 students. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a range of subjects within the humanities department and a dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across the humanities curriculum, including but not limited to history, geography, and social studies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and appreciation for diverse perspectives and cultures.
- Adapt lessons wo meet each students needs
- Working with the SEN department and external agencies to ensure lessons are working alongside students EHCPs
- Design and implement assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular connections and enhance the overall learning experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Humanities, or related field.
- Teaching certification or licensure.
- Proven experience in teaching across the humanities department, with a strong understanding of different teaching methodologies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Day-to-day
- Engaging with students in discussions and activities that promote critical thinking and empathy.
- Collaborating with other teachers to create interdisciplinary projects and lessons.
- Providing additional support and resources for students with diverse learning needs.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills and cultural competency.
