Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting and empowering children with diverse learning needs in a one-on-one setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a student with SEN to facilitate their learning and development in line with their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Provide personalized assistance and support to address the specific needs of the student, including sensory support, communication, and behaviour management.
  • Communicate effectively with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to monitor the student's progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to implement inclusive practices and promote an accessible learning environment for the student with SEN.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a 1:1 setting.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Understanding of IEPs and the ability to implement personalized support plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • A patient and compassionate approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Day-to-day

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will spend your days providing individualized support to a student with SEN, utilizing your knowledge of diverse learning strategies and working collaboratively with the school team to ensure the student's educational and personal development needs are met.
