Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full time ASAP Start, 8:15am -4pm

Location: Manchester

Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a team who prides themselves of working as a team. This role will be working in a SEN Provision with a collaborative team of Teaching Assistants providing fantastic support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in adapting and implementing learning activities to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Support students with their personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Experience working in a SEN provision is ideal.
  • Previous experience in 1:1 support is ideal.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and understanding attitude towards students with diverse learning needs.

Day-to-day

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials.
  • Collaborating with the classroom teacher and SENCO to support students' individual education plans.
  • Supporting students with personal care needs and facilitating their participation in classroom activities.
