Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Harrow, London
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time OnlyAbout the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Harrow. This is a full-time position, offering an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, helping them to engage with the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
- Assist class teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery tailored to individual student needs
- Support students with personal care, emotional well-being, and behaviour management
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers
- Collaborate with the wider teaching and support staff, as well as external professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity within the school
- Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant Diploma (Level 2/3) or equivalent would be beneficial, but not essential
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
