Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and hard working team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and creating an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop essential skills.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities for students with SEN.
- Support students with personal care and behaviour management, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to implement individual education plans and monitor student progress.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and support their individual needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable.
Day-to-day:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and external professionals to provide tailored support and ensure that students with SEN can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
