Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic Primary School in Richmond Upon Thames. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and previous experience working with SEN students.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
- Provide one-on-one support to SEN students in the classroom
- Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Help SEN students with personal care and mobility, if needed
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Previous experience working with SEN students - Challenging Behaviour, Autism, ADHD is ideal
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field
Day-to-day
- Providing one-on-one support to SEN students
- Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher to ensure inclusive learning opportunities
- Supporting students with personal care and mobility, as required
- Contributing to the social and emotional development of SEN students
