KS1 Art Teacher – 1 Day Per Week (Wednesdays Only) – Brent, North West London

Contract Type: Ongoing Supply / Long-Term Placement
Working Pattern: Every Wednesday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:15am – 4:15pm
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)We are working in partnership with a highly regarded infant school in the Kingsbury area of Brent to recruit a passionate and reliable Art Teacher for a long-term, part-time position starting in September.
This is an ongoing role for one day per week, every Wednesday, making it an ideal opportunity for a teacher seeking flexible work alongside other commitments.
The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering engaging Art lessons across Key Stage 1, teaching four lessons each Wednesday. Teaching will alternate between Year 1 classes one week and Year 2 classes the next.
The school is looking for a candidate who can confidently plan and deliver lessons aligned to the KS1 Art and Design curriculum, while inspiring creativity and enthusiasm among young learners.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum.
Teach four Art lessons every Wednesday across Year 1 and Year 2 classes.
Create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
Assess and monitor pupil progress where required.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership.
Follow all safeguarding and school policies.Requirements:
Essential
Strong knowledge and understanding of the KS1 Art and Design curriculum.
Experience teaching primary-aged children in a UK school setting.
Ability to deliver creative, engaging and well-structured lessons.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Right to work in the UK.Desirable
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Art specialism or relevant creative background.
Experience teaching across Key Stage 1.
Previous experience working in infant schools.Applications from experienced teachers, ECTs, specialist art educators and unqualified teachers with significant primary school Art teaching experience are welcomed.
