Location: Brent, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pmAbout the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join a busy and welcoming school in Brent. This is a full-time position requiring an immediate start. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school office, supporting staff, students, and parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school office
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate pupil records using SIMS (School Information Management System)
- Record, monitor, and manage safeguarding concerns using CPOMS
- Handle attendance records, including monitoring and reporting absences and lateness
- Provide administrative support to senior leadership and teaching staff
- Manage school communications, including emails, letters, and newsletters
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and school events
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies
- Support admissions processes and maintain student data
- Carry out general office duties such as filing, data entry, and document management
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a school administration role
- Strong working knowledge of SIMS is essential
- Experience using CPOMS for safeguarding and pastoral records
- Valid First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a school setting within the UK
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures in education
- Experience supporting attendance and admissions processes
