An education recruitment agency is currently working with a large and well-established secondary school in Watford to recruit a qualified English Teacher for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic English department within a school that prides itself on strong academic standards and a supportive teaching environment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

• Teach KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department.

• Contribute to department planning, meetings, and school initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3–KS4).

• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.

• Excellent classroom management skills.

• A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress.

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
