Music Teacher (Part Time)

3 days per week (Monday–Wednesday)
Start date: w/c 13/04

We are seeking a Music Teacher to join our PPA team, delivering engaging and high-quality music lessons to pupils in Years 1–6. This is a part-time role, ideal for a confident classroom practitioner with a passion for music education.

The successful candidate will initially be paid through an agency, with the intention for the role to progress into a longer-term position.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging music lessons to whole classes across Years 1–6

• Provide PPA cover as part of a collaborative teaching team

• Ensure lessons are inclusive, well-structured, and appropriately differentiated

• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment

• Assess pupils’ progress and adapt teaching accordingly

• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable

• Candidates without QTS will be considered if they have experience teaching whole classes

• Strong classroom management skills

• Confidence delivering music lessons across a primary age range

• A flexible, professional, and enthusiastic approach

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
