Term-time only | London | £30,000–£32,000 (pro rata)

We are working with a high-performing secondary school in London to recruit an experienced Senior Administrator to join a fast-paced, high-functioning school office.

This is a varied and impactful role, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys taking ownership, and wants to feel they are genuinely making a difference every day.

The Role:
The Senior Pastoral Administrator plays a key role in the smooth running of the school’s pastoral systems. You will oversee administrative practice across five year groups, act as a trusted point of contact for Heads of Year, and ensure consistency, accuracy and professionalism in all pastoral processes.

The role requires a high level of autonomy, excellent judgement, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Pastoral & Head of Year Support.
Coordinate and oversee parent meetings across five year groups, ensuring clear communication and consistent standards.
Act as the main point of contact for multiple Heads of Year.
Manage key school inboxes, prioritising, responding and escalating as appropriate.
Support the organisation and delivery of parent information evenings and end-of-term events.
General Office Support.
Handle telephone enquiries professionally.
Draft high-quality letters and emails (excellent grammar and attention to detail essential).
Maintain and quality-assure pastoral data systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Person Specification:
Proven ability to build strong working relationships.
Confident and professional phone manner.
Experience working independently and using initiative.
Experience following and creating clear administrative processes.
Strong IT skills, including Office 365, spreadsheets and word processing.
Experience handling confidential information sensitively.

Skills & Attributes:
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
Calm and effective under pressure, with the ability to manage a busy workload.
Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
Logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Proactive, flexible and a team player.
Confident using Excel and managing data accurately.

Education:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential

Additional Information:
Term-time only (38 weeks per year)
Local Government Pension Scheme
