Early Years Practitioner – Barnet
Full-Time | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: JanuaryWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join a highly regarded mainstream primary school in Barnet. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within a well-established nursery setting that prides itself on providing a nurturing, inclusive and engaging early learning environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative Early Years team, supporting the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for children aged 3–4. You will assist with planning and delivering activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), help create a stimulating classroom environment, and contribute to the social, emotional and educational development of the pupils in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the class teacher and Early Years team in delivering EYFS-aligned learning and play-based activities
Helping to create a positive, safe and engaging nursery environment
Encouraging children’s independence, communication and social interaction
Assisting with observations, assessments and record-keeping as required
Providing pastoral support to pupils and helping to manage daily classroom routines
Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and wider school staff to ensure each child receives high-quality support
Requirements:
An Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential
Previous experience working within an Early Years or primary school setting is advantageous
A genuine interest in early childhood development and supporting young learners
Strong communication skills, patience and a proactive approach
Reliability, professionalism and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to follow school safeguarding procedures and undergo an Enhanced DBS check
