We are working with a highly respected SEND school in Merton that caters to students aged 9–16. The school supports children with a wide range of special educational needs, providing a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment. They are committed to ensuring every student reaches their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join this supportive and experienced team. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students with diverse needs, helping them engage with their learning and achieve their goals.This is a full-time role, five days a week, with immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support for students with a variety of SEN needs, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
Assist teaching staff in delivering personalised learning plans.
Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Prepare and adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
Monitor, record, and report on student progress.
Promote independence and positive learning behaviours.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in an SEN environment is essential.
Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of SEND needs.
Full DBS check.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
