Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Job Type: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £96–£110 Per DayThe Role: Early Years Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets
We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets, supporting children in Early Years Foundation Stage, including those with additional needs. This is a full-time role working within a well-resourced early year setting that promotes play-based learning and child-led development.
You will play a key role in supporting the class teacher, fostering a safe and stimulating environment, and helping to meet the developmental needs of all children – including some with speech and language delays, autism, or other SEN requirements.
An Early Years Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Support pupils in Early Years with their learning, play, and personal development
- Assist in delivering a broad and balanced EYFS curriculum through engaging, hands-on activities
- Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support for children with additional needs, including SEN
- Help promote social interaction, communication, and early language skills
- Assist with personal care routines and mealtime support where required
- Contribute to observations and progress tracking under the direction of the class teacher
- Support classroom routines and create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all pupils
Qualifications and requirements – Early Years Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets
- Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent is essential
- Experience working in an early years or nursery setting, ideally within a school environment
- Some experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young children
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A clear understanding of safeguarding practices and promoting children’s welfare
