Salary: £130 - £160 per day

The Role: Reception Teacher – Croydon

A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Croydon is seeking an experienced Reception Teacher to lead a Reception class within their Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a full-time position, ideal for a dedicated early years specialist who is passionate about supporting young children during this crucial stage of their development.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, child-centered learning experiences, supporting both the academic and personal development of children aged 4–5 years. The successful candidate will have previous experience teaching/covering in a Reception class and be confident in delivering the EYFS curriculum.

A Reception Teacher will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
• Create a stimulating, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Support children’s development across all areas – communication, literacy, numeracy, physical, personal, and emotional
• Use observations and assessment to track progress and inform planning
• Build strong relationships with children, parents/carers, and staff
• Promote independence, curiosity, and a love of learning through play-based activities
• Work collaboratively with the Early Years team to maintain a consistent and supportive approach

Qualifications and Requirements – Reception Teacher – Croydon

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Previous experience teaching in a Reception class
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and child development
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A warm, patient, and proactive approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
