The Role: Sociology Teacher – Redbridge

A secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a passionate and engaging Sociology Teacher to join their humanities department. This is a full-time role teaching GCSE and A-Level Sociology, with the opportunity to inspire students and foster a love of social sciences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate, and independent research. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to academic excellence and student development. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT with strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Sociology.

A Sociology Teacher will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the GCSE and A-Level Sociology curriculum
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and school life
• Support students in developing analytical and evaluative skills
• Prepare students for exams and coursework requirements

Qualifications and requirements – Sociology Teacher – Redbridge

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Strong subject knowledge of Sociology at KS4 and KS5
• Ability to engage, inspire, and challenge students of all abilities
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
