The Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated History Teacher to join the Humanities faculty from October. This is a 3-month placement with the exciting possibility of a permanent role from January, making it an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher who is looking to make a lasting impact.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching History across Key Stage 5, delivering a curriculum that challenges, inspires, and prepares students for future academic and personal success. You will be joining a supportive department with a strong reputation for high standards and outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons across KS5.
- Inspire students to develop a deep understanding of historical events, perspectives, and interpretations.
- Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students of all abilities in achieving their academic potential.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice and enhance the overall learning experience.
- Uphold the school’s ethos, values, and safeguarding standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a closely related subject.
- Experience of teaching History at KS5, with evidence of successful outcomes.
- Strong subject knowledge, with the ability to bring History to life in the classroom.
- High expectations of yourself and your students, with excellent classroom management skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
