The Role: English Teacher – Tower Hamlets

The school is seeking an inspiring and motivated English Teacher to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, up to GCSE level. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and dedicated to delivering high-quality lessons that foster a love of literature and language. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and support pupils of all abilities, ensuring strong progress and excellent outcomes.

A English Teacher will be expected to:

• Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.
• Planning, preparing, and assessing lessons in line with the curriculum and examination specifications.
• Using a range of teaching strategies to inspire, challenge, and motivate students.
• Supporting pupils with a variety of needs to achieve their potential, both academically and personally.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities linked to English.
• Working collaboratively within the English department to share good practice and continually improve teaching and learning.

Qualifications and requirements – English Teacher – Tower Hamlets  

• Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in English or a related subject.
• A strong subject knowledge and passion for English language and literature.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to high expectations, both academically and behaviourally.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4
