Job Type: 8:30am -4pm

Salary: £100 – £125 Per day  

The Role: HLTA – Lambeth  

As a HLTA, you will be a key member of the teaching and learning team, working across different classes, year groups, and subjects within the Primary School. You’ll provide targeted group and 1:1 support, lead interventions, and take whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to plan and adapt activities, create engaging resources, and ensure that learning is accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for every pupil.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same,  you might be leading a guided reading group in the morning, supporting a science lesson in the afternoon, and running an after-school club by the end of the day. You’ll also help promote positive behaviour, support pupil wellbeing, and contribute to the wider life of the school.

A HLTA will be expected to:

• Leading whole-class lessons when the teacher is absent
• Planning and delivering small group or 1:1 interventions to support progress
• Working collaboratively with teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources
• Supporting the development of pupils’ social, emotional, and academic skills
• Assisting in the assessment and tracking of pupil progress
• Managing classroom routines and behaviour in a positive, consistent way
• Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Contributing to extracurricular activities and school events

Qualifications and requirements – HLTA – Lambeth

• Holds an HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Has strong classroom management and communication skills
• Can confidently lead learning across a range of subjects and year groups
• Is adaptable, proactive, and able to use their initiative
• Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Has a passion for helping children achieve their best
