Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Job Type: 8:30am -3:30pm, September Start

Location: Redbridge

Salary: £96-£110 Per Day  

The Role: Cover Supervisor – Redbridge

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning when teaching staff are absent. You will supervise classes across the curriculum, deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure pupils remain engaged and on task.

A Cover Supervisor will be expected to:

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of a teacher.
• Distribute and explain pre-set work to students and ensure they remain on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour and deal with incidents following the school’s behaviour policy.
• Take attendance and complete required administrative tasks.
• Report back to teachers or senior staff on student progress and behaviour.
• Support students with questions about the assigned work (without direct teaching).
• Ensure a safe and orderly environment in the classroom.
• Follow school procedures including safeguarding and health and safety policies.
• Support during exam periods or other school activities as needed.
• Attend briefings or training sessions if required by the school.

Qualifications and requirements - Cover Supervisor – Redbridge

• Experience in a similar role/ leading a classroom
• Experience of managing challenging behaviour
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm
• Basic level of IT literacy in using Microsoft software e.g. outlook, Word, Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
