Salary: £140 - £210 a day
The Role: ICT Teacher – Southwark
In this rewarding role, you will lead the delivery of a dynamic and engaging ICT curriculum that is carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges. You'll have the opportunity to inspire learners by developing their digital skills, encouraging creativity, and building their confidence in using technology. Working within a small, supportive team, you'll play a vital part in re-engaging students with their education, fostering a love for learning, and helping them achieve personal and academic growth. You'll also work collaboratively with pastoral and therapeutic staff, ensuring a holistic and student-centred approach to teaching. This is a chance to truly make a difference, empowering young people through ICT while supporting their emotional and social development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As a ICT Teacher will be expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality ICT lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
- Teach a range of ICT topics including digital literacy, coding, multimedia, and online safety.
- Differentiate learning materials and approaches to support individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress; provide regular feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff.
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral team to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Contribute to the development of personalised learning pathways and interventions.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development through consistent routines, boundaries, and positive reinforcement.
- Use ICT tools and platforms to enhance learning and promote digital engagement.
- Participate in staff training, CPD, and whole-school events as part of your professional development.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils in line with school policies.
Qualifications and requirements – ICT Teacher – Southwark
- QTS
- Experience teaching ICT at GCSE and A level
- A strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies for positive behaviour support.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
