Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Ongoing
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

A warm and inclusive primary school in St Albans is seeking a committed and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September 2025.

You will be working closely with children who have a range of special educational needs and play a key role in helping them reach their potential.
About the Role:
Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
Mild Learning Difficulties
Challenging Behaviour
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO and other professionals to implement tailored support strategies
Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual pupils’ needs
Monitor progress and support social, emotional, and behavioural development
Contribute to the creation of an inclusive, respectful and stimulating classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (in a school, nursery, or similar setting)
A calm, empathetic, and encouraging approach to working with children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from teaching staff
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
