A highly regarded and well-resourced primary school in St Albans, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant to join their committed team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to deliver a high standard of education and pastoral care to children in Year 1 or Year 2. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in children's lives and is either experienced or looking to develop a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
Support the learning and development of pupils in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 or Year 2)
Assist the classroom teacher with daily activities, lesson preparation, and classroom organisation
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
Help foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Contribute to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils
Candidate Requirements
Experience working with children, ideally in a school or early years setting
A patient, proactive, and caring approach to supporting young learners
Understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum (desirable but not essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo DBS checks
Availability to work full-time during term-time from September 2025
