  • Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to the delivery of EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets.

  • Adapt learning resources to suit pupils’ needs and encourage independent learning where appropriate.

  • Observe and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and engagement, contributing to termly reviews and staff discussions.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists to provide consistent support to pupils.

  • Promote safeguarding and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment at all times.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a KS2 classroom or primary setting.

  • A strong understanding of additional learning needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.

  • A calm, adaptable, and patient manner with a positive, solution-focused approach.

  • Confident in promoting positive behaviour and supporting children through emotional or behavioural challenges.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Ability to follow plans and guidance from teaching staff while using initiative when supporting children’s needs.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or a degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject.

  • Additional SEN training such as Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or Autism awareness would be beneficial.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive daily pay rate of £100 - £105, paid weekly.

  • Full-time, long-term position starting in September 2025.

  • Supportive school leadership and a welcoming staff team.
